GREG BUTTERFIELD

Group President, Altiris Business Unit Greg Butterfield is group president of the Altiris business unit and is responsible for sales, engineering, marketing, alliances, and business development for the group. Butterfield joined Symantec through the company’s acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, he most recently served as chairman of the board, president and CEO.
Butterfield has more than 22 years of executive-level experience in the software industry. After joining Altiris in February 2000, he guided the company to eight consecutive years of revenue growth and profitability. In Butterfield’s first year with Altiris, annual revenues were $3 million; in 2006, annual revenues were $229 million.
Butterfield was the driving force behind nine acquisitions and he successfully completed an IPO in 2002 in the face of a notable economic downturn. The IPO was followed in August of 2003 with a successful secondary offering.
Prior to joining Altiris, he served as executive vice president of worldwide sales at Vinca Corporation where he increased revenue from $1.7 million to $24 million in less than three years and positioned the company to be sold to Legato Systems for $92 million in 1999. He also held executive level positions at Novell and WordPerfect Corporation.
Butterfield was invited to the 2006 World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer. He was also the winner of the 2002 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and served as the president of the Utah Information Technology Association from 2003 to 2005.
Butterfield received a bachelor of science in business administration, finance from Brigham Young University. |
DWAIN KINGHORN

Vice President of Engineering Dwain Kinghorn is the vice president of engineering of the Altiris business unit and is responsible for the development of Altiris products. Kinghorn joined Symantec through the company's acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, he most recently served as the Chief Technical Officer.
Kinghorn founded Computing Edge in 1994 and merged the company with Altiris in October 2000. Prior to the merger, Computing Edge was recognized as the leading provider of Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) add-on tools. Dwain is now the chief strategy and technology officer for Altiris. Before he founded Computing Edge, Dwain was one of the original three members of the SMS development team at Microsoft. He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering. |
STEVE ERICKSON

Vice President Operations Steve Erickson is the vice president of operations of the Altiris business unit. Erickson joined Symantec through the company's acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, he most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer. Erickson has 20 years of experience in public accounting and executive financial positions. Before joining Altiris, Steve was the CFO/controller for five years for a privately-held, $135 million revenue-generating corporation, where he was responsible for all aspects of financial management. He also has 10 years of accounting and auditing experience with Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen. |
MIKE SAMUELIAN

Vice President Sales Mike Samuelian is the vice president of sales for the Altiris business unit and is responsible for worldwide sales for Altiris products. Samuelian joined Symantec through the company's acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, he most recently served as the vice president of worldwide sales.
Mike joined Altiris with 22 years of software sales and sales management experience. Since joining Altiris in 2000, Mike has grown the sales force into a world-class sales organization, with offices in every major international market. Altiris revenues have also experienced exponential growth during the past four years under his direction. Prior to joining Altiris, Mike was the director of strategic alliances at Legato in Palo Alto, California. Before joining Legato, Mike served in many capacities at Vinca. He was responsible for establishing Vinca's international sales division, which eventually accounted for 40 percent of the company's revenue. Prior to joining Vinca, he was vice president of sales at Jostens Learning in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |
CHAD LATIMER

Vice President Global Services Chad Latimer is vice president of global services of the Altiris business unit. Latimer joined Symantec through the company’s acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, he most recently served as vice president of global services.
Latimer is responsible for raising customer satisfaction levels by delivering world-class support, consulting and education services for Altiris products. Prior to this position, Chad was VP of international operations where he helped Altiris become a global company by establishing subsidiaries in Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, and the UK. Chad has 16 years of experience working as a director and vice president with software companies, including WordPerfect and PowerQuest. He holds a bachelor of arts degree. |
CARINE CLARK

Vice President Marketing Carine Clark is vice president of marketing for the Altiris business unit and is responsible for global marketing. This includes all aspects of product, corporate, field, and partner activities to promote Altiris products worldwide. Clark is also responsible for Altiris events, including the development of ManageFusion, the industry's leading systems management user conference. Clark joined Symantec through the company’s acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, she most recently served as vice president of global marketing.
Before joining Altiris in 2002, Clark spent 14 years with Novell. She held numerous director-level positions at Novell where she helped drive sales through successful product launches, global marketing campaigns and strategic event management. She earned both a bachelor of arts in organizational communications and a master of business administration. |
ED REILLY

Vice President Sales EMEA Ed Reilly is vice president of EMEA sales of the Altiris business unit and is responsible for driving product sales in EMEA. Reilly joined Symantec through the company’s acquisition of Altiris in April 2007. At Altiris, he most recently served as General Manager for Altiris' EMEA operations.
Reilly joined Altiris in November 2003 and bringing with him 20 years experience held in executive and managerial positions in the high technology industry. He has driven sales growth at leading technology companies and organizations with more than $1 billion revenue in areas such as infrastructure management, CRM, ERP, and service management. His areas of expertise include sales, sales management, business development, IT operations and finance. Prior to joining Altiris, Reilly was vice president of sales for Peregrine Systems, where he was responsible for Eastern Area Sales for the U.S. He has also held positions at Siebel Systems and Oracle. | |
