As the Sr. Product Manager for SVS, I can assure you that erikw's article is largely correct in describing the next release of SVS. Key partners like Erik have been testing with a pre-beta version for some time. Although erikw's post hit a little early, it is true that this release will rename SVS to Symantec Workspace Virtualization. As we've worked together we know that many of you are loyal to SVS as you have worked with it over the last months and years. Your familiarity through your training and deployments has made SVS as comfortable as a pair of warm slippers.

SWV Wow, What a Great Improvement!

In my beta portal I saw something new, and as curious as I always am, I wanted to check it out. So I did a cut and paste of the name and started Google. There I found an article with what it meant.
Altiris SVS is going to be renamed to Symantec Workspace Virtualization, and it jumps from version 2.1.3064 to 6.1.4015.

Building a VMware Shared Disk

When you use a lot of VMware servers and/or desktops, you will need a lot of harddisk space. Also you need to copy software and data from one virtual machine to the other. This can be made very easy when you build a shared disk.

Juice Has Moved! Please Remember

The Juice has moved, and now people complain about not seeing their points.
The only thing you have to do is to register on the SymAccount site with the same email address you previously used on the Juice.

How Can a VSA File be Delivered via Task Server?

Software Delivery packages can be delivered via Task Server, however, as SVS packages are not displayed in the Deliver Software Package Selector, how can they be delivered through Task Server?

SVS Maintenance Pack Now Available

November 10th, Symantec has release a new maintenance pack for SVS, it contains several fixes listed below the break.
An issue causing decreased performance when SVS is installed on the same system as Cisco Security Agent has been fixed.
